The Admissions Process

The Admission process at Trinity School is designed to enable prospective families and the school to base decisions on the best information possible. A careful review of all testing, psychological, medical, and educational records is necessary as a starting point. The admission process itself emphasizes gathering information through personal contact and direct observation. This allows the parent, the student, and school personnel to base decisions on actual experience with one another.
PHASE 1 - INQUIRY AND APPLICATION
  1. A face-to-face interview establishes for both the parent and school that the child's abilities and needs are sufficiently in line with the school's mission to warrant further exploration.  A tour of the school is usually part of this initial interview step.
  2. Following the interview and tour, the parent arranges for the child to visit Trinity School.  Trinity School requires prospective students to visit the school for at least one school day and at most three school days.  This helps the school and family understand if Trinity School is the right placement for a child.  At the same time as the visit is arranged, the parent arranges for copies of the following information to be sent to the school Attention Admissions:
·         A completed application form
·         A full psycho-educational battery of tests including cognitive ability testing, diagnostic achievement and language testing that is no more than 3 years old.  If unavailable, testing will be arranged through the Trinity Learning Center.  Please note that there is a fee for such testing.  Families may elect to have such testing performed by their public school or private professionals.
·         most recent report card or progress report
·         if applicable, documentation of diagnosis for those applicants with a specific learning disorder, autistic spectrum disorder, or sensory integration disorder
·         if applicable, all former evaluations and ARD/IEP papers
·         a signed consent for release of information
·         $300 Enrollment Fee
Please be certain that all documents are complete and have no missing information as this will delay the processing of the file.
Following a review of these materials, the school will be able to tell the parent whether the child seems to be a likely candidate for admission.
If Trinity School is found to be an appropriate placement for your child and space is available, a letter of acceptance and enrollment contract will be sent to you.
PHASE 2 – ENROLLMENT
When the school and family decide to enroll a student, the following information must be provided:
  • record of immunization
  • school transcript for those students in grades K-8
  • current grades if transferring between start and end of a grading period
  • completed and signed Enrollment Contract
Please note that all information must be submitted and complete before your child’s enrollment is finalized and before your child may attend classes.
