Language Basics

Language Basics is an Alphabetic Phonics-based curriculum that provides explicit and direct instruction in reading, language, and spelling.  Language Basics forms the core curriculum for the Trinity Tutorial.

Language Basics - Elementary

Language Basices - Elementary is designed for students in grades 1-3.  Incorporated into the reading and language curriculum of 1st grade, Language Basics-Elementary is the core curriculum for the Trinity Tutorial in grades 2-3.

Language Basics-Elementary incorporates:

  • Multisensory methods for teaching decoding, comprehension and spelling vocabulary that can be integrated within existing language arts curricula or phonics-based programs

  • Systematic, structured, sequential and discovery-based instructional techniques

Language Basics - Secondary

Language Basics - Secondary is designed for students in grades 4 and above.  Language Basics-Secondary is the core curriculum for the Trinity Tutorial in grades 4-8.

Language Basics-Elementary incorporates:

  • Balanced, multisensory approach to reading and spelling

  • Systematic, structured, explicit instruction in reading, verbal expression, spelling and dictionary skills

  • Basic English syllable types, syllable division, spelling patterns and spelling rules
