Supporting Your Student Every Step of the Way

Tools and Strategies That Make Learning Accessible
At Trinity School, we know that students with learning differences thrive when they have the right tools, accommodations, and support. That’s why our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to meet diverse learning styles and create an environment where students can succeed (and be academically challenged).

Here’s a look at some of the key supports and accommodations that help our students succeed and feel confident in their learning.

iPads and Assistive Apps

  • Students use iPads equipped with specialized apps to support reading, writing, and organization. Tools like text-to-speech, audiobooks, and word prediction help remove barriers to learning and build independence.

Headphones and Classroom Speakers

  • The use of noise-canceling headphones is encouraged when necessary to help students reduce distractions and stay focused during independent work or assessments.
  • Classroom audio systems ensure teachers’ voices are clearly heard by all students, improving comprehension and attention.

Flexible Seating and Sensory Supports
Every student learns differently, and physical comfort can make a big difference in focus and engagement.

  • Flexible seating options such as wobble stools, standing desks, and cushions help students find the setup that works best for them.
  • Sensory tools like fidgets or weighted lap pads are available to support self-regulation and reduce anxiety during class.

Visual Supports and Organization
Visual schedules and checklists help students understand routines and stay on track.

  • Graphic organizers break down complex assignments into manageable steps.
  • Color-coded materials support organization and reduce overwhelm.
    Personalized Instruction and Accommodations

Our teachers and specialists provide a range of in-class accommodations tailored to individual learning profiles, including:

  • Extended time on assignments and tests
  • Small-group instruction and re-teaching as needed
  • Simplified directions and chunked information
  • Frequent check-ins to monitor understanding and progress

A Learning Environment Designed for Success
These accommodations aren’t add-ons—they’re an integral part of the Trinity Experience. By thoughtfully combining technology, flexible supports, and evidence-based teaching strategies, we create classrooms where students feel understood, capable, and ready to learn.
