Lower School (Grades K–5)
At Trinity School at Edgemere, our Lower School program (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) is designed to meet the unique needs of students with learning differences through a supportive, structured, and joyful learning environment. We believe early education should build both confidence and competence—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Individualized Instruction for Every Learner
Each student receives customized support based on their specific learning profile. Whether a child is navigating dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other learning differences, our experienced educators use evidence-based teaching methods tailored to how they learn best. Small class sizes allow us to meet students where they are and help them grow at a pace that’s right for them.
Core Curriculum with Built-in Support
Students in our Lower School engage in a full academic program that includes:
- Reading & Language Arts – with intensive phonics-based instruction
- Mathematics – using multi-sensory strategies for deeper understanding
- Science & Social Studies – encouraging curiosity and critical thinking
- Handwriting & Written Expression – supported by occupational therapy-informed methods
Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALTs) and reading specialists work closely with students who need targeted reading intervention and literacy support.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our K–5 students participate in enrichment opportunities designed to spark creativity and build well-rounded skills, including:
- Art & Music
- Physical Education
- Technology Integration
- Life Skills
- Weekly Chapel Services
We also incorporate social-emotional learning throughout the day, helping students develop self-awareness, empathy, communication skills, and resilience.
Safe, Supportive, and Structured
Trinity’s Lower School provides a nurturing environment where students feel seen, valued, and encouraged to succeed. Daily routines, clear expectations, and individualized attention help students build the confidence they need to take academic risks and experience success.
