Admissions Information

To be considered for admission to Trinity School, students must have a medically diagnosed learning difference or an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) from a previous educational institution.

The admissions process at Trinity is designed to allow families and educators to work collaboratively to determine which students will benefit most from our unique academic and social programs. Once we receive a completed application, our admissions committee carefully reviews all testing, academic, medical, and behavioral records. Based on these materials and the resources we have available, we determine whether our programs can effectively meet your child’s needs.

We take a holistic approach and do not rely solely on documentation. The next step in the process is a three-day student shadow visit, during which your student is immersed in Trinity School's environment. Teachers and administrators provide observations and recommendations to the committee that inform the admission process. If the committee determines we have the resources to meet your child’s needs, they will be invited to shadow a current Trinity student in the same grade level. This experience allows us to observe your child in a classroom setting.

Trinity School admits students in grades K–12 without discrimination based on race, ethnic background, health condition, socioeconomic status, or gender.

Trinity School serves children who exhibit learning differences. Trinity serves students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, sensory processing issues, anxiety, and developmental delays.

Trinity School is not equipped, nor is its faculty/staff trained to work with students experiencing severe cognitive, auditory, emotional/behavioral, or physical disabilities.

According to Section 14 of the School Laws of Oklahoma, the following age requirements must be met for admission:

  • Kindergarten – To be admitted to kindergarten, a student must have turned 5 years of age on or before September 1st.
  • First Grade – To be admitted to 1st grade, a student must have turned 6 years of age on or before September 1st and cannot be older than 7 years of age.

Conditional Enrollment – Occasionally, students may be admitted under special circumstances, and in those cases, we offer a conditional contract. The contract will outline behavioral or performance expectations that the student must meet within a specified time frame (e.g., four to six weeks) to continue with the program. If the conditions are met, the contract may be extended. A decision to extend or not extend the contract is the sole discretion of the Head of School.

Trinity School recognizes that some students have learning needs that the school is not equipped to meet. Because we want these students’ needs met in the most appropriate way possible, Trinity School will decline to accept or retain students who have learning needs that will not be met by its methodology, or who demonstrate cognitive limitations that make steady academic progress within Trinity School’s program unlikely.

First priority will be given to our current students re-enrolling in Trinity School and their siblings that have a diagnosed learning difference. Re-enrollment packets are sent to the families of current students each year in January and the re-enrollment deadline falls in late February. After that open enrollment begins in March, applications are accepted and reviewed.  The number of students accepted each year depends on available space in each grade level.

As a tuition-based private school, Trinity School covers 98% of its operating budget through student tuition, without relying on state or federal funding. This approach empowers us to deliver specialized programs that meet diverse learning needs and provide smaller class sizes where students benefit from more individualized attention and support.
